Ecclesiastical Insurance advances e-sourcing programme through 3-year deal with IBX

London, March 16, 2010 - IBX Group, the leading provider of efficient purchasing solutions, announced today that Ecclesiastical Insurance will be upgrading its e-sourcing platform to the new version of IBX eSourcing, powered by SAP.

Ecclesiastical Insurance has been successfully using an earlier version of IBX eSourcing since April 2008 and was impressed by its ease of use and ability to streamline the procurement process. The new deal leverages IBX’s partnership with SAP, and also includes IBX Service Desk Source, a reliable, flexible managed service platform supporting day-to-day sourcing operations.

“We’ve been using e-sourcing for over a year now and have been impressed with the efficiencies that it has delivered,” said Peter Roberts, Head of Procurement at Ecclesiastical. “For example, it used to take us around two and a half days to score companies on their suitability as suppliers. Through the IBX platform this time has now been reduced to only five hours, enabling the procurement team to increase efficiency and ensure greater value of money. These great results and the easy transition offered by IBX from our original system to the latest version gave us confidence that IBX could help us achieve our procurement ambitions over the next few years.”

Implementation of IBX eSourcing is part of a wider plan to modernise Ecclesiastical’s whole procurement process, in order to increase its purchasing efficiency and cut sourcing costs.

“We are very proud of our growing relationship with Ecclesiastical Insurance Group, and of the continued success of this project. We’ve worked closely with the purchasing team to enable Ecclesiastical to ensure the long-term development of its sourcing strategy, as well as tackle its current purchasing challenges,” said Mark Masterson, UK Country Manager at IBX.
